How to handle the error - "Unable to process request" for Bluedart carrier

Issue Description

While creating a shipment, you may encounter an error -"Unable to process request". This is Bluedart default label generation failure, even though the shipment data has been successfully accepted by the carrier.

This error occurs after data submission and during the label generation stage.

Why This Happens

  • The carrier has accepted the shipment data but is unable to generate the default label format (BD label).

  • This is a carrier-side limitation or temporary issue related to label rendering.

  • The error is not caused by incorrect data or system malfunction on our platform.

Impact

  • Shipment creation may fail or remain incomplete.

  • Label is not generated automatically.

You can resolve this issue using either of the following options:

Option 1: Contact the Carrier

  • Reach out to the carrier’s support team.

  • Inform them about the BD default label generation failure.

  • Request assistance in generating the label from their end.

Option 2: Change Label Format and Retry

  • Go back to the shipment creation flow.

  • Change the label format (instead of BD default).

  • Retry creating the shipment.

  • In most cases, the shipment is created successfully with an alternate label format.

Option 3: Remove Unwanted Special Characters

  1. To proceed with shipment creation, ensure that all unwanted special characters are removed from the order details. Navigate to the Orders page, edit the relevant order, and delete any unnecessary special characters from the fields. Once the changes are saved, retry creating the shipment.

To avoid this issue in the future, we recommend using an alternate label format when creating shipments for this carrier.
